Previously, there was a lot of skilling. Watermelon went on a free vacation, Lime ruined our plans and there were a lot of birthdays. We did say goodbye to Joseph. Finally, Lime and Pistachio became Young Adults.
We get our first look at 18 year old Pistachio. She gained Workaholic on her roll.
Lime adds flirty.
They both had the want to go to University, so I guess we’ll be off soon.
Pistachio is amazing and gets a full scholarship and plans to major in Technology.
Lime is a bit less impressive, but still did an amazing job. He has decided to major in Fine Arts, since that will get them both done with school in two terms.
Jinx appears to be worried about Pistachio leaving for school.
Pistachio: I’m sure Mom will take great care of you while we are gone. I promise.
Pistachio: Aren’t you bringing a suitcase?
Lime: I just shoved my stuff in with yours.
We’ll be back as soon as University is done.
The only thing of interest at University was sending love letters to that yellow haired girl, Misty.
Oooh. Nice.
She even showed up as a tourist.
Ugh, even leaving the game on triple speed 99% of the time, it still took forever to get this done.
Sixth Trait: Pistachio, Ambitious. Lime, Family Oriented.
I didn’t bother documenting the graduation, but everyone invited showed up and route failed. Yay. Soon they returned home and I was so glad.
Pistachio and Lime uploaded their resumes. I was hoping for a jump in job level, but that’s not how it went.
-10 (both Pistachio and Lime) points because you can’t upload your resume from the house phone and cell phones are not unlocked.
She ends up at level 2 in the Law Enforcement career because of her teen job. The degree comes in handy for hourly wage and I guess easier performance increase. A normal level 2 Desk Jockey makes $47 an hour. Pistachio now makes $144.
Likewise, Lime would have made $32 an hour, but gets $78 an hour as a Spice Runner.
I would much rather have had a job starting at level 5 or something.
Not exactly what I had in mind, but okay.
Misty: So, you’re back from university?
Pistachio: Yeah, just a couple of hours ago.
Misty is successfully ensorcelled.
Is it ethical to flirt with someone under your control?
Pistachio: Ethical Shmethical.
This act right here turned Pistachio from undecided to gay.
I guess maybe Misty doesn’t care about the ethicalness now that she’s being noticed.
Oh, I don’t think that was a good idea at all!
Misty: I’m totally going to nom your nose for that.
Ew.
HotM kiss into a dip kiss is auto extremely irresistible and therefore, Pistachio has a new girlfriend.
Slow your roll. We gotta move her in first.
If you are wondering why the rush (genie+fairy=long life), it’s because Misty is a lot older than Pistachio.
Misty: What are you doing?
Pistachio: Fixing you so we can continue on with our moment.
They quickly have an ocean view marriage in the dark. Thanks.
Misty brings forth cash and we even got a pop up to transfer property. Nice. The family net worth went from $1.5 million to $1.6 and it is only going to increase from there.
Sigh. Oh well, it’s points per visa and six tombs in each place should give us 9 points.
Omg. Is it too late to switch to the evil branch? She’s PERFECT and we can have a buttload of babies at the end! Oh hell ya. She’s a witch too! This totally makes up for another million years of exploring.
She’s a level 8 singer, but Showtime is not in the rules. I am categorizing that as a music based career, unlocked in generation 2.
Pistachio has never used her points. I am sooo tempted.
Okay, I went for it. I changed out her workaholic for evil and changed her LTW to Private Museum (she is already at $15,932 of $20,000). I did that because she will be an evil private investigator and I am not going to try that LTW since it’s been broken forever.
Then I tried to do a house renovation and was putting stuff in the family inventory. Going back live, took forever and it eventually crashed. SIgh.
I lost about two hours real-time, not sure about in-game.
Okay, upon reload, Pistachio and Misty were dating, but not married. Misty was still ensorcelled. Do not marry someone ensorcelled because then they can’t move in. Sigh. Pistachio had to get friendly with her new wife and ask her to move in. She brought in less money this time, but we still nabbed her businesses. I got them back to where they were and I had everyone leave the lot and tried to renovate again.
Then, I went to redo the house again and again it crashed coming out of build mode. Something on the lot is glitched guys.
Ended up being $25,000 worth of books in the bookcases. I put it in Jinx’s inventory before going into build mode and everything is fine now.
I destroyed their house and built them a new one. Hopefully it doesn’t take forever to furnish it.
*a month later*
Well, I sort of got bored with building and took off for greener pastures for a month. On return, I found that a buttload of lag showed up. Nothing fixed it so enjoy the last seconds of Dragon Valley and a house that we will never see again.
Pistachio: Woohoo! I’m married!
Misty: Yay, I’m married!
Lime: Hey, what about me?
Lime: Make her stop!
Misty, being evil, has chosen to torment poor Lime.
**Three months even more later***
I forgot that they were glitched and went back to the previous save and got stuck in build mode. Again. I’m not a fan of the new house I built. I think we’re stuck with it because I really don’t feel like building tonight.
If you don’t read The Tart ISBI, the reason for my absence was my motherboard taking a royal shit. I put $1,500 into a new build and now it’s time to play again finally. Old v. New components.
The second floor consists of one room with two bedrooms and a bunch of half walls. I did stick some bookcases in two other areas, but I think they might become a nursery and an office.
The main floor is another single room. It consists of living, dining, kitchen on the right and laundry room, two All in One bathrooms, a relic area, and a bedroom on the far left.
The 3rd and final room is the basement. It has the dead, and some other junk. With 4 people in the house, we do rate a 4th room, I just don’t need one yet.
I forgot that Marina had a puppy! This adorable little girl is Sabby.
Sabby’s father is Voxel, a neighbors dog that Marina had a tryst with one night.
We can’t forget the cats! Jinx (back left) and Splat (b. right) had Tiger, who is already an adult. In fact, Splat and Jinx have almost maxed life bars.
Lime hunts down Kory. It’s time for Lime to get married!
Of course, he has to get Kory in the mood first.
All goes according to plan.
Back home, these two are just flirting.
I put the Criminal track changes into affect.
Mistletoe has a party and invited the whole household. The party icon over the house disappeared before they got there.
I’m getting annoyed with Misty and her horrible wants.
Off to Egypt!
She had just finished Tomb 5 when the trip ended. I was very annoyed.
Two new gnomes from Egypt.
Watermelon gets a promotion!
Watermelon and Marina spend two days out collecting and getting rejuvenated in the Motive Mobile.
The ghosts come out and never leave now. They are constantly cooking too.
Watermelon wins her game and gets a promotion a few days later.
Why yes, yes I am trying to get the gems all situated while these two played right in the way.
Somehow, some gems went missing over the months, but we are doing really well. The pink diamond and Smithsonite lines are the one not getting done fast.
Sabby has her birthday finally.
The group was out collecting and taking rides in the Motive Mobile. When I cancelled the ride, I forgot about everyone except Marina and Watermelon. I found the two couples split up and having fun at random houses. Well, everyone except Kory is having fun anyway.
The gem collection portion on pillows is for Consignment.
Pistachio finds a Tiberium for sale!
Watermelon sold fish at the regular Consignment shop and gems, metals and gem dust at the Elixir one. She made a cool $202,000.
We said goodbye to Splat that night. As soon as Pistachio had cleared everyone up with the Moodlet Manager, the music started again. I was so sad to see Marina leave us. She had just reached hunting level 8 earlier that day.
I must not have autonomous woohoo on. This is the first one of the update and it was overseer directed. Neither Misty or Pistachio ended up pregnant, so it was back to Egypt for them to get the last tomb.
This was the gnome found at Base Camp.
Misty wanted to woohoo and I heard a lullaby!
Misty befriends a Falcon.
There it is! I think she had enough time to do a 7th tomb. I can’t remember, so I’ll check her tomb stats when I have the game open again.
Back home, Pistachio clears out her inventory and gets her Museum LTW completed.
By now, it’s like 3am and I get up at 5:30 (lol), so we will end it here so I can get a nap.
Extras:
Hopefully you’ll have fewer issues with the new rig, the graphics look amazing (not that yours ever looked bad anyway). The private investigator career is so much fun if you’re not trying for that impossible LTW, Pistachio will love it!
I just started reading your Vinson 2.0, up to chapter 13. I am really enjoying your newest challenge! You have a great sense of humor and really bring out the character of these crazy sims we play. It gives me an good insight as to the way other simmers are playing their sims. I don’t know it you keep any of your old saves around but I really like the houses you build as they seem to work really well with generational style of playing. If you happen to have any way to upload them, (thinking Generation 2 and 3 for now) or even if you have some top view pictures of the first and second floors I would love to see them. I’m always looking for new ways to build my sims a house. Cheers! L.
PS sorry I meant Generation 3 and 4, and wow I just finished Chapter 13, did not see that coming! I didn’t know Aliens could do that either. Good to know! 🙂
I actually only have pics of chapter 17 and 18, as I have not played these guys in forever and had computer issues about a year ago and my external hard drive malfunctioned also. I did play the family in the past couple of weeks and they already have a new house, but let me check my old saves. I should have a before and I will get some pics and maybe grab the library file for you. The downstairs was annoying, so you might have to do some remodeling.
And thanks for reading! I swear I almost have enough for a new chapter and there is already a baby in the mix.
Unfortunately I do not have a save for the house. Looks like Generation 5 overwrote it and they have a new house. https://vinsonfamilysepicchallenge.files.wordpress.com/2015/11/ts3w-2015-11-18-14-09-51-29.jpg. Here is the Generation 2,3, and 4 house. The upstairs was just one big room the exact outline of the downstairs. Over the top left (red stripes) was a tiny bathroom and a nursery was right next to it. Just below the kitchen table, I believe I deleted that whole wall cut out and put the stairs in there. There was no real furniture upstairs. It was just skilling items around the walls along with urns and portraits.
Okay, thank you, I forgot about that picture, oops. I know that good size rooms are definitely better for playing.
