Chapter 7

*A/N: I found this draft in the blog bin.  I had no clue I had even wrote it up/uploaded it (June 10, 2014).  It was after the poll, but before the results.*

I hate reverting back in time.  Really I do.  Here is what I have had to deal with lately.

With the countdown to Sims 4 official though, I decided to get the Vinson’s completed before September.  With the hard drive failure, Gemma went from university back down to toddler.  I was not going to update the Vinson’s with this replay, but I had an unfortunate glitch happen.

Gemma ages up to child and is completely face one.

After moving them to Sunlit Tides, Gemma’s dad, Keith plays guitar on the beach so that I don’t lose everyone to watching him constantly.

Keith heads over to Kincaid Broke’s house to adopt one of the pups.

The pup is renamed Champagne.  He was a Charlie.

Leo (July’s dad, Gemma’s Grandad), has to gain back the lost painting level and writing level.  Then his LTW will be done.

Champagne is just too cute for words.

Taffy and Champagne are awaiting puppies.

Keith and July age up to adult.  How weird that her dad is still YA, right?  Damn fairies.

Lily was born.  Leo now wants to train our 14th generation unicorn.

Gemma gets on the honor roll.  The next day is her teen birthday.

Leo maxes painting and all the skill challenges.  He makes about $89,000 a week in royalties, so he is not writing books for his last writing level.  I just have him refining his skill.

July rides a horse for the first time ever.  She hopes to get Lily trained too.

Champagne howls to the birth of his pups, calling everyone to witness the next generations birth.

Taffy busted out with four pups.  The male and female on the right were identical.  Likewise, the male and female on the left were identical, but not to the other two.  I took them into CAS to get rid of the brown that somehow shows up randomly on colored pets.  Taffy never got rid of her brown, and you can see what the pups were mixed with.  I sent the two male pups to a neighbor and we will make our choice from the females.  I guess it will come down to floppy or perky ears!

I had concerns when Gemma aged up to child.  I was correct to have them.  She aged up to teen completely face one.  Somehow, she had lost 99% of her genetics.  Only her skin, hair and eye color belonged to the family.  I miss my old Gemma.  Seriously.  I wish I could go back to February and have some sort of inkling that my computer was going to die. I did about 2 hours of surgery on her and this is the best I could do.

I don’t like her.

The next day, Leo maxes his writing skill (he topped his career sometime last year) and completes his LTW.  He still has 54 days until he ages to adult.  I guess he can stick around and see the end of this challenge with a goal of maxing all of his skills.

Vinson Update

 

Found an old save and now I am replaying Generation 8.  I will start updating again when toddler Gemma ages up to YA.  I will be fast tracking, so no actual updates will be done since we saw it all already.  Of note, Gage is a child and there will be no other births this time around.  Taffy is the dog heiress and Persimmon and Starweaver will by the parents of next horse/unicorn heir.

I am so far back that July is only level 4 in her career.  Bah.   I have already rescued the Tart’s and Lavender’s and posted updates.  I will hopefully get them back where they need to be soon.  Stay tuned.

Chapter 6

So, am I on course with finishing this before 2014…probably not.  I have extended my goal to include January!

Last time (read during the same session as the last chapter), July skilled and got promotions.  Gage went off to boarding school with Gemma.  Keith played his guitar and painted.  Leo got knocked up and popped out a couple of Fire Fairies, Andrew and Agatha.

Sadly, we also said goodbye to half the pet population.

As per the usual, July is fixing all that is broken.

Her dad has supermaxed painting.  He doesn’t get extra points for it, but I thought it was neat.  The jerk still has 88 days as a YA.

Taffy: *derp*

Taffy: “Omg!  I haz a puppy!”

Taffy: “Omg!  I haz two puppies!”

Leo continues to add masterpiece’s to his collection.

Bobby snuggles one of his pups.

Isn’t Leo adorable.  I love his painting.

Taffy is elderfied.

July goes full adult!  She looks the same though.

Gage was showing 0 days to YA for like a decade.  I had to bring him home and age him up.

Puppy!

Really, really cute puppy!

Gemma was abducted.

Which caused her to be busted for being out past curfew.  STUPID idea EA.

She was then locked in the police car, in front of her house.

Then grounded.

And let off the hook because I SAID SO!

Graduation day for Gage.

Yay!  Highest honor!  Not bad for a kid who entered boarding school with a D from elementary.

The pups aged up.  Gage took Bobby and one pup when he moved out.  We kept Dusty.

Jessica learned to paint by watching her dad and grandpa.

The jelly bean addictions need to stop.

The tv is off, so I have no clue what these two are looking at.  I did think it was sweet that he helped her with her homework.

This is to signify that July has a jelly bean addiction too.

Eat 3 jelly beans.

Eat 10 jelly beans resulted in her catching on fire.

Halfway through eating 20 jb’s, she caught on fire…THREE times.

It was a long trek..THREE times, but she never died.

Paparazzi’s love jb’s too .

Jelly bean 15 had July blowing fireballs at the neighbors.  Yeah, me and my kid laughed our asses off at this.  We were in tears.

Oh and she caught the bush on fire.  Leo came and helped her put it out.

Oh no!  My very first ever horse fail.  Poor Persimmon passed out.  She was stuck in place and I hadn’t noticed until it was too late.

Birthday!

Jordan.

See, she does get promotions!

Jessica.

She cured this guy.  She then had 2 opportunities.  One had her going from place to place all over town to do something about diseases.  I cant remember what the other one was.

The next time she went to work, she completed her LTW, which in turn completed her goal for this generation.

Now we just need to figure out who will take over for Generation 9.

I am leaning towards Gemma, but I love that Jessica has her mom and grandpa’s hair color.   Although Gemma is one day from YA, while Jessica has almost two weeks.

Chapter 5

In an attempt to get done soon, I played the hell out of the Vinson’s this weekend.  I might be able to complete it in this update or the next.  

I also did some blog maintenance.  Now each page under the Generation tab has the Chapters, sim downloads, generation goals and generation score on it.  Clicking the Generation tab shows you the general rules.  I even gave them their 100th theme…lol  I get bored too easily.

Last time, we got reacquainted with everyone.  Be forewarned, this is not an animal friendly update. 

We start off with a visit from Gussie.

Jordan and Jessica age up.

As does Gemma.

July repairs the tv.

Hector visits!

I never put in my mod for not feeding treats, so Gemma’s first child act is to feed Taffy.

Persimmon: “Dad!”

Like I said, not a pet friendly update.  Bye-bye Taurus!

Which everyone is devastated by the loss.

Peach: “Taurus!” *sob*

Peach: “Little hoomin is busted for bad grades.  Lamo.”

July goes around curing everyone.

Gage has a surprise birthday.

While July teaches Jordan to talk.

Gage

First order of business, get rid of the bad moodlets.

July: “I want to send my kids to boarding school!”

Gage: “Grandpa?  What have you done?”

Gage helps out when he can.

Since I have decided that Gemma is in the running for heir, she will only go to boarding school until her teen birthday.

All the major skills are learned.

Mario: “I have a bad feeling.”

Bye Mario! 

Everyone is back to being brokenhearted again.

Keith got a hold of the moodlet manager this time.

Hector came back to play with Jessica.

Starweaver is a brat!  He wanders aimlessly for long periods of time.  I thought he was broken, but he was just stuck.  His moodlets were heartbreaking.

The red was what alerted me that he had gotten stuck somewhere.  I reset him and all was well.

Well, except for the part where he reset inside the house.

Keith got some handy skill experience.

The twins were left to skill in the playpen.

July is stuck at the chess table to skill logic for work.

It’s about time.

He gave us a set of mixed twin fire fairies.  The names start with A.  Andrew and ….something else.

Keith loves all babies, including his new sister and brother in law.

We cut away to see Peach on her final ride.  /sadface

After learning for a bit in the playpen, it was time to read.  July plays with Jessica and gets up to best friend status.

Then it was back inside to finish skilling other stuff.

Jordan

Then Jessica…but I can’t find her pic!

They both sat down to play together.

July was upstairs running for 4 hours for an opportunity.

Jill!!

Leo paints a masterpiece.

The A twins aged up.

Star Wars, the band?  Okay.

It was Leo’s turn to fix the computer.

July had a great session at the park.

With time running out, they finally started working with the twins.

Gemma came home from boarding school and immediately did laundry.

Micah: “I’m coming Mario!”

Even I, the heartless sims player, was getting sad over all the pet deaths.

But with Taffy on the cusp of elderhood, a new pup had to be located.

July brought home Bobby from a neighbor.

Taffy got some much needed love.

First real look at the adorable Gemma.

Gemma: “Wasn’t I supposed to be doing something?”

Um, it wouldn’t be getting on the bus, would it?
Gemma: “Oh yeah!”

The twins are just waiting for their birthday.

The top one is the girl, the bottom one is Andrew.   They do look the same though.  I didn’t even bother putting hair on them…lol   /lazysimmer

Leo maxed out painting finally.  Now for the last level of writing.

Gemma mourning her dead dad who is not dead at all.

I am confused.

Hector: “He doesn’t look dead to me.”

Roarke: “Are you sure?”
Gussie: “I wish it was true, I could really use a nap in his spot.”

Shooting Star: “Excuse me, comin’ thru”
Girl Friday: “Dad.  Move!”
Keith: “Why do I have a room full of ghosts?”
July: “They think you’re dead honey.”

July: “Will you get out!  I can’t sleep with 15 pairs of eyes staring at me!”

I thought July helping Andrew was adorable.

Bobby had his birthday and a makeover.

I have a mod for no woohoo sounds or lullabies, so we’ll find out later if Taffy has pups.

I forgot to give the twins beds!  Oops.

Well, we got through 144 of my 220 pics, so another update will follow.

Leo did get his LTW completed and he maxed out two skills this update, Painting and Writing.  July and Keith were getting promotions, but I forgot the shots.  Gemma, Jessica and Jordan are all on the honor roll.  Andrew and the other one will be soon.

See you next time, where I can guarantee no pet deaths….yet.  Poor Taffy does have a birthday to elder next time.

Chapter 4: 7 Months? Seriously?

I can’t believe it’s been 7 months since I last posted.  I will direct you to this post and this post.

So then between September 27th, where I turned 40 and decided to buy Midnight Hollow and last week, all my saves came  up bad.  It kept saying the families were saved with expansion pack data no longer found.  I had just played several of the families just a few days before too.  I do think it was installing the Movie Pack that killed them.

So what this means for the Vinson’s?  Absolutely nothing.  I had just put them in a world, decorated the house and the game kept crashing.  I saved the house to the bin right then and there.  So, today they are plopped down in Dragon Valley.  The goal is to (fingers crossed) stay here for the next two generations, which will be the end.  The other goal is to have this done before the end of the year.

There is still a time gap from the hard drive death earlier this year, so don’t be alarmed when you see new little people.  Back in March, July got knocked up by a guy and gave birth to Gage.  Then I held the contest for July’s future spouse.  She ended up choosing Keith.   Since then, they have moved towns several times, but there was so much lag.  I think it’s the household size, so I will just have to suck it up and deal with it.

Firstly, Leo is still here, still a fairy and still a young adult for 96 more days.  I can safely say that he will be around until Generation 10 is born!

July is still around of course.  This is taken quite a while ago.

Keith is still here too.

~~~Time jump starts now~~~

They still have the same house.

I started off making a new nursery.  I am hoping that this will last until the end.

Gage’s room.  His favorite color is orange.

Gage is still lacking in the looks department, but he had become a child forever ago.  He is almost a teen too.

Next up was a girls room.

Because July got pregnant in the March update with little Gemma here.  She is actually all done with her skills and it is her child birthday.  Her favorite color is Lilac.

Leo’s room came next.  He also has an undecorated bathroom.

July and Keith refused to vacate their room, so it does not have a makeover yet.

While doing the room changes, it became a full moon and the pea shooter got its man.

Just seconds before, the zombie wanted to attack July, but she went into labor before he could.

They couple return home empty handed, which was a great cause for concern for me.

Luckily, they were somehow transported home…weird.  The boy is Jordan.  The girl is Jessica.

Here they are after being placed in Dragon Valley.

The family tree is largely intact.  I lost Cruz Martingale’s grave (Leo’s dad) and Icee Slush-Vinson  who was still alive in the old town.  No extended family made it though.  Reattaching the horse/dog lines took almost 3 hours.  Dipsy is missing, so we have lost our first pet, I think he was still alive.  I still have two horse spares in the cemetary, so I just substituted Starry Skies as Peach’s parent.  If you recall, Mario was born a male, but had an operation because the two dogs couldn’t mate.  Micah was added in to the house.

Left is Micah, right is our heir, Mario, who was born a male, but quickly had a gender switch.

Peach is the result of Dipsy and maybe Bulls-eye. I really can’t remember.

Her mate is Taurus, who has a horn and beard, but apparently is just a horse.

They ended up having Persimmon.  Starweaver says hi.

Mario and Micah had a pup, her name is Taffy.

The two horses and two dogs are already in their elder stages.  Taffy has no mate yet and she is almost an elder.  I am thinking that the horse line is lengthy enough to have a Persimmon/Starweaver pairing.  I think Starweaver has been around for 5 generations now.

Leo did complete his generation goals, but he still needs one more painting and writing levels for his LTW.

Keith was abducted the very first night.  We are now on belly watch.

Sorry that it has been so long and that my computer just had problem after problem.  I am hoping to get another update out soon.  There will not be anymore babies.  Either Jordan or Jessica will be the heir/ess.  I still can’t believe generation 9 will be starting soonish.  July is only level 4 in medical, so she has a long way to go.
